Re: Valencia starts for Everton tonight
I can't believe how much better he was than Zaza having watched him last night. The frustration we had with him wasn't with his finishing (he rarely missed chances but often didn't have many) why? Because of his lack of positional sense mainly.

As was mentioned earlier I was crying out for him to make a dart into the penalty area as a cross was imminent but he'd hold back around the edge of the area instead. Needs to get in there sharpish.

Always good work rate, harries well. Just needs to focus on being in the right place, would often come in search of the ball in midfield (to help admittedly) and often then lost the ball through poor dribbling or holding on too long. Doesn't matter if that happens so much if he's the right end of the pitch around the penalty area.

If nothing happens on the transfer front I wouldn't complain too much bringing him back, works well with Sakho and defends from
the front. Not ideal but short term a big improvement on Zaza or perhaps another unproven or uninspired loan that never seems to work in January (our list is endless).

Unsure if there's an option to bring him back??

Alex V - that's the first time he's been picked to start ahead of those players since he joined them 3.5 months ago!

Fair play he ran around a bit last night. But he was still as shit with the ball as he always is.

Being picked ahead of Deulofeu, Mirallas and Cleverley is no mean feat. That's what is so frustrating, the talent is so clearly there.

we need him to perform so we can hopefully sell the cunt for some money rather than paying the wanker off

So, what have we learnt this week on WHO?

-Carlton Cole and Antonio are similar players of the same quality.

-Valencia is better than Ayew.

Whatever next?

I'd completely forgotten he'd signed for Everton then I saw his perfectly round bonce warming up the other day for them and it confused the hell out of me for a minute

I imagine if any West Ham fan was offered Ayew instead of Valencia last season I am sure they would have agreed.
He was injured in the first game so is playing catch up at the moment.
We could do with a goal or two from him this week though

Ritchie...

Agreed...Ayew ain't better ...so far been a lot worse...

Will await judgement after more fitness and games...

I'd rather have Valencia right now...

You can't judge Ayew yet.

Put in a good 70+ minutes

Chased everything some good linkup...mostly wide right and did his job...

Would be a sub at WHU...or emergency striker...

Got stuck in and didn't let arsenal walk all over them.

Not that Valencia is a football genius but what was the point of loaning him out and then spending £20 million on Ayew, play in the same position and not much difference ability wise. What a waste of 20 mill.

Great atmosphere once Everton turned up.
That Gueye for a £7m release clause looking the buy of the summer.
Not sure how Arsenal didn't score at the end. Might have been a pen in there somewhere too.
